Cary, NC (June 12, 2017) – Atticus, LLC is pleased to announce two new additions to our team, Shannon Russell, Executive Vice President of Operations and Dave Bolin, Ph.D. as Director of Regulatory Affairs.

Shannon Russell brings with him more than 20 years of experience in the global agrichemical industry.  Shannon started his career in contract manufacturing at BASF before moving on to Etigra, where he oversaw sourcing and operational relationships while continuing to hone his skills in global market development and sourcing at Nufarm. Most recently, Shannon served as founder and CEO of Proventis LifeScience, where he focused on developing products for Brazil and Argentina. Shannon is a chemical engineering graduate of North Carolina State University.

Dave Bolin, Ph. D. also bring with him 20 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Atticus Dave worked for Arysta LifeScience as their Regulatory Affairs Lead for North America, Australia, and New Zealand. In addition, Dave has also worked for Tyra Tech and BASF. His experience includes regulatory affairs, product registration, research chemistry, product development and management, as well as business and regulatory negotiations both nationally and globally. Dave holds a PHD in Chemistry from The Ohio State University, and an MBA from Duke University, and is a member of the Alumni Council Duke Fuqua School of Business.

Cary, NC (May 11, 2017) – Atticus, LLC is pleased to announce the addition of four new agricultural products to our portfolio. The new products include one herbicide, Cavallo™ 4 SC, and three fungicides, Acadia™ 2 SC, Aquila XL™, and Slant™ 41.8% EC.

Cavallo 4 SC™ is a selective herbicide that delivers superior contact and residual control of tough broadleaf weeds. It contains Mesotrione, the same active ingredient that is used Callisto®.

Aquila XL is a broad-spectrum fungicide containing the same active ingredients found in Quilt Xcel®, Azoxystrobin and Propiconazole. These ingredients provide long-lasting disease protection while also improving the plant growth allowing crops to reach their maximum yield potential.

Acadia 2 SC contains Azoxystrobin, that same active ingredient used Quadris® and Abound®. This systemic fungicide offers curative, translaminar, and preventative activity. Acadia 2 SC provides long-lasting, broad-spectrum control and is highly effective on four major fungi groups.

Slant 41.8% EC is a broad-spectrum fungicide that provides a full-season of control from crop-damaging diseases. It contains Propiconazole, the same active ingredient used in Tilt® and Orbit®.

CARY, N.C. (April 1, 2017) – Atticus, LLC is pleased to announce that Bill Abetz has joined its team as Director, Professional Products. Bill will lead the expansion of Atticus products supporting turf, ornamental, vegetation management and aquatic customers nationwide.

Bill brings with him more than 26 years of experience across multiple facets of professional pesticide distribution and product development. He joins Atticus following seven years at Florikan where he was most recently Director, Business Development.

CARY, NC (March 13, 2017) – Atticus is pleased to announce its EPA registration for bifenazate, which it will enact to launch multiple relevant generic insecticide formulas under the brand name Enervate™ for specialty crops (comparable to Acramite® and Vigilant™) and Actuate™ for greenhouse and nursery (comparable to Floramite®).

Enervate™ is available in both 4 SC and 50 WSB formulations for mite and insect control in key nuts, vegetables and stone fruit. Enervate is currently the only generic alternative of the popular 50 WSB available in a 1-lb foil bag with two 0.5-lb water soluble bags for improved grower convenience and economy. Enervate is a highly effective on-contact miticide with complete life cycle control on labeled mites. It provides control with fewer applications and is an effective resistance management tool.

Actuate™ SC is labeled for control of nuisance mites on ornamental plants in greenhouses, shadehouses, nurseries, landscape, and interior scapes. Actuate SC works on-contact to control insects at every stage and provides a long residual, up to 28 days, while being safe on beneficial mites and insects.

CARY, NC (January 2, 2017) – Atticus recently announced the introduction of a line of products containing the active ingredient Acetamiprid, an insecticide that works quickly to control target pests through both contact and ingestion. The products will serve as a viable, EPA-recognized and USDA field-proven alternative where pollination impact is a concern. Atticus offers two formulations use in agriculture and turf and ornamental markets.

CROP

In agricultural applications, ArVida 30 SG and ArVida 70 WP can be used alone or as a part of a resistance management program on a broad range of crops. The active ingredient works through translaminar movement to penetrate plant tissue. It provides rapid leaf protection and long-lasting control of sucking and chewing insects.

PROFESSIONAL

In turf and ornamental applications, Quasar 8.5 SL controls key ornamental and greenhouse pests including aphids, beetles, leaf miners, scales, whiteflies and thrips. Quasar works on contact and through translaminar movement or systemic activity for quick knockdown and long residual control of sucking and chewing pests.

CARY, NC (November 15, 2016) – Atticus, LLC recently announced the introduction of a new product containing the active ingredient thiophanate-methyl, a broad-spectrum curative and preventive systemic fungicide. Atticus offers a single formulation for both agriculture and turf and ornamental markets.

Talaris 4.5 F is labeled for use on dry beans, edible beans, soybeans, sugar beets, peanuts, tree nuts, pome and stone fruit, cucurbits, onions, potatoes, strawberries, fall wheat and other crops. The product controls white mold, Cercospora blight, frogeye leaf spot, Cercospora leaf spot, powdery mildew and other key diseases.

Turf and ornamental professionals rely on thiophanate-methyl for consistent, broad-spectrum disease control. With a systemic mode of action, Talaris 4.5 F sets the standard for preventive and curative control in turf and nursery, greenhouse, landscape and interiorscape applications.

CARY, NC (April 1, 2015) – Atticus has received federal registration from the Environmental Protection Agency for its new flumioxazin products.

Atticus products containing flumioxazin include: Zaltus™, Semera™, and Schooner™.

  • Semera 51.0% WDG Herbicide offers excellent pre-emerge residual weed control in turf, golf turf, container and field grown ornamentals, non-bearing fruit and nut trees and vines. When tank mixed with glyphosate, Semera enhances knockdown, even on glyphosate-resistant weeds.
  • Schooner™ delivers fast, selective control of invasive aquatic plants such as cabomba, watermeal, Eurasian watermilfoil, water lettuce, duckweed, and giant salvinia. It dissipates quickly in the water column and does not accumulate in sediment.
  • Zaltus™ keeps bareground areas weed free with season-long control of more than 100 tough weeds. It has a flexible application window, and low use rates make it easy to store.
