CARY, North Carolina (December 19, 2024) – On December 19, 2024, Atticus, LLC filed a lawsuit against FMC to confirm its expected chlorantraniliprole (CTPR) formulations and product offers do not infringe any valid patent rights owned by FMC.  Atticus’s lawsuit, framed as a declaratory judgment action, will enable Atticus to secure legal certainty, and to use that certainty when it begins commercializing its CTPR portfolio.

Atticus is committed to offering the most comprehensive, unencumbered, and cost-competitive portfolio of CTPR products serving the Ag and EcoCore markets,” states Randy Canady, CEO, Atticus. “We view CTPR as a valuable agronomic tool that has not reached its full market potential.  As the price-to-agronomic value of CTPR becomes more aligned, end-users will be empowered to use CTPR in more routine agronomic rotations for better, more cost-effective insect control.”

Atticus respects the intellectual property rights of competitors such as FMC.  Atticus also respects FMC’s leadership in their defense and overall stewardship of the CTPR molecule. While Atticus diligently engaged with FMC, Atticus views the declaratory judgment action as the most effective and respectful approach to proactively clear any disputes between FMC and Atticus while insulating customers from any crossfire and burdens.

CARY, North Carolina (November 13, 2024) – Atticus successfully advances to Microsoft Dynamics 365 (‘D365’) as its cloud-based operating system, effective October 19, 2024, with no business disruption. We embarked on this endeavor with a keen focus on enhancing the customer experience while scaling to our full potential. Atticus engaged with Stoneridge Software and dedicated three positions, which were further complemented by 25 subject matter experts, to tackle Phase I, Lift & Shift. “This investment once again demonstrates our commitment to Operational Excellence and long-term viability with an insatiable appetite for continuous improvement via systems and processes,” shares John Henderson, EVP, Business Optimization.

This meticulously orchestrated upgrade prioritized business continuity over the 10-month period that only pushed 15% over budget, which accommodated a 38-day extension for sufficient go-live testing. “This was a complex project, but due to Atticus’ diligence, this was one of the smoothest production cutovers we have accomplished,” states Luisa Hill, Senior Project Manager at Stoneridge Software.

CARY, North Carolina (July 30, 2024) – Atticus is a proud sponsor of the Agricultural Retailers Association Rising Stars program. This initiative allows ARA member companies to nominate emerging leaders, providing them with a platform for recognition and a means to further develop their leadership skills.

The theme of this year’s Rising Stars award program was “Next-Level Leadership: Always Navigating Forward,” and Atticus is honored to recognize Scott Birth, Logistics Coordinator with Rocky Mountain Agronomics, as the 2023 grand prize winner.

Scott is a graduate of Utah Tech University with an education in business administration and management. Raised on a family farm, Scott understood the importance of agriculture and hard work from a young age. “Next-level leadership to me means to think big,” says Scott. He exemplifies this by establishing high-level goals for himself and his team. “These goals have a great impact on propelling the company forward. They provide my team with a guiding light, unity, and a clear vision. Once these goals are executed, the passion for progress becomes infectious.” Scott also believes in establishing relationships with his team and breaking down barriers with empathy. He states, “A next-level leader understands that culture is what defines a team and a company.”

Listen now as Scott talks about what leadership means to him, the Rising Stars experience, and the opportunities that followed:

As part of the ARA Rising Stars recognition, Atticus welcomed Scott to its headquarters in Cary, NC. This opportunity gave him a firsthand look into a “Day in the Life of an Atticus Employee,” offering a unique experience of Atticus culture and operations. “We continue to be amazed at the caliber of professionalism and energy exhibited by the Rising Stars, and this year’s winner did not disappoint,” shares Randy Canady, Atticus Founder and CEO.

If you know an emerging agriculture leader deserving of industry-wide recognition, be on the lookout for when we announce 2024 nominations!
